PAGNY is currently seeking a full-time leader, educator and clinician to serve as Chairperson of the Department of Radiology at South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), a 371 bed Academic Community Hospital affiliated with SUNY Downstate in Southern Brooklyn.
This is a terrific opportunity to lead a strong clinical department and develop a state-of-the-art imaging center as construction begins on a new 11 story tower building. Set to be completed in 2022, and is part of a major $922 million hospital campus expansion, which will replace the current tower. In addition to the new hospital building, a 350K square foot critical services tower is also expected to open in 2022. In addition to elevated ER, OR and imaging suites, the new building will include 80 acute care beds; surgical suite with 8 brand new ORs, surgical prep and recovery areas, including a 12-bed PACU. Full radiology suite – including CT, MRI Interventional Radiology. Endoscopy suite, 64-beds in Behavioral Health and a clinical laboratory.
Our successful candidate will assist in the creation and implementation of a strategic vision for the department, be part of the transformation, and ensure the provision of exceptional care to South Brooklyn residents as part of the patient care team at South Brooklyn Health.
Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
Current NYS license and Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology
Proven track record of successful leadership, administrative skills and academic achievement
3-5 years of administrative/leadership experience required
An effective communicator at all levels in the organization
Change agent, able to strategically think at both a 10ft and 10,000 ft vantage point
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at time of hire
