Diagnostic Radiologist – Community Radiology
Opportunity available for an amicable General Diagnostic Radiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the Number 1 Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth. Candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent, have completed a minimum of 1 year of fellowship training in any diagnostic subspecialty and be ABR-certified/eligible. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Divisional duties include interpreting a full range of diagnostic imaging studies and providing consultation to referring physicians as well as clinical expertise with radiograph interpretation. Body CT imaging and general ultrasound is also expected. Nuclear medicine training and experience is desirable. Interventional, neuroradiology, mammography, cross-sectional musculoskeletal imaging or pediatric radiology is not required. Call responsibilities are rotated equally among the group with separate ER in-house coverage for after hours.
The Community Radiology Division currently includes 22 faculty and 4 radiologist assistants. Service locations include Parkland Health & Hospital System, University Hospitals and 6 ambulatory clinics, all with state-of-the-art equipment. The PACs system is integrated with the EMR for easy review of relevant history by the interpreting radiologist. Standardized dictation templates are utilized for ease of decision support in up-to-date radiology interpretations and recommendations. Radiologist-led quality assurance programs ensure patients are safely and optimally imaged.
