Penn State Health is seeking a radiation oncologist to join our radiation oncology team. The successful applicant will work primarily at the Penn State Health Holy Spirit in Mechanicsburg, PA while enjoying close collaboration and support of the radiation oncologists and clinical teams of Penn State Cancer Institute, Penn State Health St. Joseph and the Community Medical Group. Penn State Health is one of the leading teaching and research hospital systems in the country. Located on the west shore of the Susquehanna River, Holy Spirit Medical Center medical oncology program is accredited by the American Society of Clinical Oncology QOPI (Medical Oncology). This is an exciting opportunity to achieve accreditation by the American College of Radiation (ACR).
The Penn State Health Holy Spirit department includes the following technology: Varian C-Series accelerator with IGRT and IMRT/VMAT; ARIA EHR; Eclipse Treatment Planning; and Philips CT unit. The radiation oncology services for this location are expected to move to our new PSH Cancer Center at Hampden Hospital with new equipment in October 2025. The radiation oncology team includes radiation therapists, a medical physicist, a medical dosimetrist, a registered nurse, and licensed practical nurse. The PSH Holy Spirit Radiation Oncology Center team collaborates with eight medical oncologists, six APPs, clinical coordinators, OCN- certified oncology registered nurses, a cancer risk evaluation program, clinical research staff, social workers and financial counselors. The Radiation Oncology department cares for 18-25 on-treatment patients per day and on-call is shared with other Penn State Health radiation oncologists. The successful candidate will enjoy the support and collaboration of our broadly experienced and welcoming radiation oncology team across the Penn State Health System.
