Chief of Community Radiology
The Radiology Department at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Chief of Community Radiology, who will report to the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and oversee the activity of approximately 15-20 clinical faculty and physician extenders within the division. Candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent; have completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency program and a minimum of 1 year of fellowship training, and be ABR-certified/eligible. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Candidate should be competent in several areas of Diagnostic Radiology and have familiarity with or be willing to refresh familiarity with additional specialized radiology fields. Experience with emergency radiology is desired, but not required. Demonstrated extensive and progressive leadership experience, an ability to promote innovation, inspire organizational excellence, exceptional interpersonal and operational skills, and the ability to work successfully in strategically driven multidisciplinary teams are highly desired qualities for this position.
The Community Radiology Division provides comprehensive clinical imaging services at numerous locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In addition, division faculty cross-cover other services at Clements University Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and Texas Health Frisco. Accordingly, the Chief oversees a division that works with referring physicians and providers throughout the surrounding community, acting as an ambassador to external physician practices and internal departments, and playing a role in translating imaging practices to the community.
Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group, as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus. Administrative, biostatistical and logistical support are provided. Strong collaborations with imaging vendors enrich discovery opportunities. Faculty benefits include an excellent healthcare plan, competitive salary and retirement benefits. A convenient on-campus transportation system ensures mobility between the various clinic locations across the expansive campus. Nearby daycare is also available.
