University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics
Location: Iowa City, Iowa
Salary: $68,700 - 76,500
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Department of Radiology, has one fellowship position in Nuclear Oncology open for 2024-2025. This 1-year non-accredited program offers a multidisciplinary experience that bridges theranostics and multiple clinical oncology disciplines. The fellow will work with experienced nuclear medicine faculty, radiopharmacists, and physicist to enhance understanding of therapies (established and investigational), dosimetry (for safety and/or treatment optimization), imaging (NM and PET), and tumor board discussions. Leaners benefit from the high-volume and large diversity of cases referred to our tertiary care center. We have an active dosimetry program, a cyclotron, and radiochemistry facilities. Some general nuclear medicine and light call are included. A large portion of the year will be in rotations outside the department to enhance the fellow's understanding of the other cancer care disciplines such as radiation oncology; surgical, medical, and pediatric oncology; and neuroendocrine endocrinology. Our faculty, fellows and residents come from all over the U.S. and countries outside, making the Iowa experience diverse and welcoming. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is among the best in the nation, as measured by the quality of its programs, clinical faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities.
Prior nuclear medicine training is required for this advanced position. Applicants should be board eligible, have passed all three USMLE exams, and be eligible for a permanent Iowa medical license.
