To make an impact as a radiological imaging tech at UF Health Shands, you will:

• Perform a variety of radiographic procedures for diagnoses and treatment and critique radiograph to ensure high-quality images.
• Apply the principles of radiation safety during radiographic imaging.
• Assess patient vital signs and conditions when indicated during procedures.
• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification and prepare patients for exams.
• Facilitate cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety by sufficiently explaining the procedure to the patient and family.
• Communicate pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
• Maintain a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Report equipment malfunctions to proper personnel or service entity.
• May assist in orienting, training and mentoring new employees or students on department workflow, practices, policies and procedures.

This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Schedule: Full-time
Shift: 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday – Friday
Location: 1600 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608

• A graduate of a radiologic technology program accredited by an agency accepted by the ARRT.
• Registered by the ARRT or registry-eligible; must obtain registry within six months of employment.
• Currently licensed as a certified radiologic technologist in the state of Florida.
