The University of Missouri’s School of Medicine,?Department of Radiology, is expanding and adding faculty to our Neuroradiology division. This is an outstanding and unique career opportunity for candidates of all levels: new fellowship graduates starting their careers, mid-career radiologists looking for career transitions, and experienced faculty wishing to join a dynamic and thriving academic radiology department.
Our Clinical Model
University of Missouri Health Care is the only academic hospital serving mid-Missouri, certified as both a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center. Faculty in our Neuroradiology Division interpret the full spectrum of adult and pediatric brain, head & neck, and spine imaging. We have strong collaborative relationships with the Departments of Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Neurology, and Pathology; and work alongside interventional specialists from Neuroendovascular Intervention.
You will receive strong mentorship and support from Radiology Vice Chair and Neuroradiology Division Director Mai-Lan Ho, MD, an international leader in advanced neuroimaging acquisition, analysis, and informatics. All radiologists benefit from state-of-the-art technology including 7T MRI, advanced diffusion, perfusion, functional, vascular, ultrashort-echo, spectroscopy, photon counting CT, and nuclear medicine. Incredible growth is occurring throughout the university and hospital with the NextGen Precision Health Building, Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program, and Women and Children’s Tower (opening spring 2024). · Join a diverse group of 36 clinical radiologists and 10 research faculty: Meet our Team

Our Educational Model
Radiology is an integral part of University of Missouri (MU) medical student and post-graduate trainee education. We offer eight radiology fellowship programs, including an ACGME-accredited Neuroradiology Fellowship for which we accept one fellow per year. We also have a longstanding ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency program with five residents per year, with a strong focus on trainee independence and excellence. Our diagnostic residency offers the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology Residency (ESIR) pathway. July 2021, we started an independent Interventional Radiology residency program that accepts one resident per year.
Our Research Model
The NextGen Precision Health Institute is a $220 million, 265,000-square-foot research facility and hub for interdisciplinary collaboration among radiologists, scientists, and referring physicians. Both clinical and research patients are imaged at the NextGen facility, which houses the only 7 Tesla MRI in Missouri along with 3 Tesla MRI, PET/CT, electron microscopy, and laboratory space. The NextGen Biomedical Informatics team provides informatics and data science expertise to accelerate health education, research, and service, including the PCORI-funded Greater Plains Collaborative of 34 million patients across 8 states.
The MU Research Reactor is the most powerful university reactor in the United States and operates at 10 megawatts, 6.5 days a week and 52 weeks a year. MURR is home to cutting-edge radiochemistry and nanotechnology work that supplies clinical radiopharmaceuticals across North America, as well as research into molecular theranostics with collaborators at the Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Center and Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
Our integrated MU campus includes medical, health sciences, nursing, veterinary, agriculture, engineering, business, law, education, journalism, and undergraduate schools all within walking distance of the hospital. Highlights include MU Veterinary Health Center, a leader in preclinical research and animal care; Bond Life Sciences Center for state-of-the-art genomics and metabolomics support; and MU Data Science Institute for multidisciplinary informatics research and education. Tuition assistance is offered to both employees and family members interested in various degree programs. Finally, MU has forged strategic alliances with a variety of leading companies, creating novel public-private partnerships such as the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation and Alliance for Precision Health.
