The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale University School of Medicine is seeking board eligible/certified radiologists with expertise in thoracic imaging for a full-time faculty appointment. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
The Thoracic Section at the Yale Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging has a track record of providing high quality, timely and progressive thoracic imaging using high-end equipment. We are highly valued by our clinical colleagues for our subspecialist expertise, which has recently been expanded to include contemporaneous evening services seven days/week. The thoracic imaging services we offer are high demand across the Yale New Haven Health System and we are now looking for new skilled attendings to join our team of 11 thoracic radiologists.
Yale Radiology provides an excellent working environment. The Thoracic section has a close working relationship and interacts with world-renowned pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and subspecialists in other fields of medicine. Interdisciplinary conferences encompass a broad spectrum of comprehensive lung programs, including interstitial lung disease, COPD, lung cancer, lung cancer screening, and general pulmonary pathology.
The Thoracic Imaging section is involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows from radiology and other specialties such as internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. There is ample opportunity for teaching and professional development.
The department offers state-of-the-art imaging equipment in radiography, CT, MR and PET/CT modalities. Our primary sites of coverage, are at the main Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Raphael Campuses, both of which are centrally located in New Haven, a vibrant and engaging University town. Additional coverage takes place at several of our Ambulatory Care Centers in surrounding New Haven and Fairfield Counties.

A strong interest in clinical care and education is required. Exemplary clinical skills and a commitment to expand the range and quality of provided services are essential for promotion. A candidate’s willingness to collaborate on scholarly output in their own area of interest, would be an advantage. Applicants with additional experience in body, cardiac or emergency imaging would be welcomed.
