The Division of Interventional Radiology at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh is currently recruiting an academic interventional radiologist. The IR Division provides care at multiple core academic institutions including UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside, UPMC Mercy, and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in addition to providing support to other UPMC hospitals in the greater Pittsburgh area.
UPMC IR performs a full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures and maintains active outpatient clinics at multiple sites with strong oncologic, hepatobiliary, transplant, trauma, vascular, and pediatric interventional radiology services. The IR Division has worked hard to build and maintain excellent clinical and academic relationships with Hepatology, Transplant Surgery, Liver Surgery, and Oncology in affiliation with the Hillman Cancer Center.
In addition to our robust clinical practice, UPMC IR has multiple ongoing translational research studies, both locally and in collaboration with other national academic institutions. Major research focuses include interventional oncology, organ transplantation, hepatobiliary disease, trauma, and portal hypertension.
The UPMC IR Division currently has 12 full-time IR physicians, 6 dedicated APPs, and participates fully in the IR/DR dual certification residency program including both integrated and independent residency programs in partnership with the UPMC diagnostic radiology residency.
Expectations for this position will consist of a mix of clinical, teaching, and academic IR responsibilities predominantly at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC but also with clinical daytime and call responsibilities at other core academic hospitals as needed. In addition to routine daily inpatient and outpatient clinical IR responsibilities at Magee, this includes participation in both the Magee Hospital Vein Clinic and Fibroid Clinic, both of which occur weekly with significant and consistent clinical throughput and collaborating with clinical colleagues from vascular surgery and gynecology. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent and eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
