Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Provider
The Department of Radiology is seeking applicants for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position, in the Division of Interventional Radiology at the University of Colorado Hospital under the supervision of the Chief of Interventional Radiology. We are open to applicants at the Instructor or Senior Instructor academic ranks. We are a high-volume section of 9 full-time faculty and 5 APPs. We are adding a 6th APP to address an increase in volume due to growth. APPs perform multiple Interventional Radiology Procedures independently including venous access, PleurX placement, and fluid drainage procedures. They are actively engaged in the longitudinal IR clinic with the IR faculty & manage an independent APP clinic that focusses on drain care.
Clinical duties involve primarily the provision of outpatient and inpatient clinical service support as well as both procedural and clinical activities. The individual will be trained by the Interventional Radiology physicians in image guided minor procedures. The job will require clinical duties in both the inpatient and outpatient setting including pre-operative H&P, informed consent, patient preparation for procedures, inpatient rounding, family and patient education, admission and discharge from the hospital, and coordination of longitudinal care of Interventional Radiology patients. Evenings and weekends are not required for this position. This position will be integrated with the entire APP practice so some cross-coverage of the Highland’s Ranch Practice will also be expected.
Minimum Qualifications (applies to all ranks):
Master’s Degree in NP or meets the qualifications for a PA-Graduation from an NCCPA-approved Physician Assistant program and a current Colorado State Physician Assistant License by the time of hire. Prescriptive authority is required.
Candidates with experience in interventional radiology or spine surgery are preferred. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible in daily tasks, and work well with a team.
