Temple Health is currently seeking a BE/BC Abdominal Radiologist to join its growing Department of Radiology in Philadelphia, PA.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of Philadelphia’s Leading Academic Medical Centers, which is home to more than 1,000 physicians and scientists who share the mission of bringing innovative treatments to patients.
The abdominal imager will join a team of about 40 faculty members and will contribute predominately in the abdominal imaging section consisting of Body MRI, CT, US and fluoro. Our faculty/physicians practice at Temple University Hospital (TUH); Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC,) one of only 50 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country; Temple’s Jeanes Hospital Campus, our community outpost; and the Northeastern Campus. Our faculty have the flexibility to practice at multiple campuses/sites and also remotely with supplied home PACS work stations on a reoccurring basis.
Our facilities house all new CT scanners including DE GE Revolution and 128 GE scanners (4 CTs at TUH, one each at NEC and Episcopal and 2 at Jeanes); 3 MRI at TUH (two 1.5 T and one 3T,) one MRI at NEC, and one at Jeanes. Fox Chase Cancer Center has 2 CT scanners one of which is currently being replaced with a state of the art GE machine, 2.5 MRIs, one 1.5 T, and one 3 T units.
Our two radiology residency programs have a total of 26 trainees (16 diagnostic and 10 interventional/ diagnostic,) and 12 to 15 medical students are assigned to radiology rotations each month. These clinical rotations are bolstered by two daily lectures.
Excellent opportunities exist for engagement in research and scholarly activity. Our team regularly presents at national meetings with our motivated residents. There also is great opportunity for faculty development whether this be through Temple Leadership Academy, or participation in numerous opportunities to enhance your experience. The Kozera Teaching academy offers a great curriculum on how to become better and innovative teachers, and similar curriculums. We are currently developing a “How to get started in Research Curriculum” for those motivated to do so.
Our radiologists enjoy working collegially with our referring faculty including the Thoracic Medicine Institute. Together they form the top lung transplant program in the country several years running. We have several faculty annually selected as Top Docs in Philadelphia Magazine by Castle and Connelly.
Applicants must possess an M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent with board certification or board eligibility in radiology and fellowship training in abdominal imaging. Subspecialty fellowship training in one facet of abdominal imaging will also be considered including MRI fellowship, cross sectional fellowships and ultrasound training. Expertise in MRI or US and 4+ years’ experience preferred, but not required. Applicants with specific interest in Oncologic Body Imaging are encouraged to apply. Candidates must obtain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to the commencement of employment.
