The job provides leadership and direction through managers responsible for the financial and management functions of a department in support of teaching, medical research and clinical care. Facilitates research initiatives of the faculty and staff. Develops departmental plans. Provides leadership and supervision to a large staff of exempt and non-exempt employees, including management teams.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 10+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
1) Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance, business, health care, or relevant field
2) Advanced degree strongly preferred
1) Seven years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience in financial planning, management, analysis, forecasting, modeling, or administration
2) A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience within a complex, healthcare environment
3) Five years of progressively responsible talent management experience in coaching, communication, recruiting, hiring, and performance management
4) Directly related financial and budget development experience in a complex environment
5) Experience working in a fiscally responsible, highly regulated business setting that regularly employs benchmarking
6) Experience using Electronic Medical Records Systems, Enterprise Resource Systems, and Medical Group Practice Billing and Financial Management Systems
7) Significant experience within an academic health sciences environment
8) Knowledge of research funding and appreciation for working in a research-intensive academic culture.
