UMass Memorial Medical Center(UMMMC), in Worcester, MA is seekinga fellowshiptrainedInterventional Radiologistto join anexisting group of four InterventionalRadiologists providinginterventional services atUMMMC and one of our community hospitals. The percent effort will be split approximately 80/20 between UMMMC and the community. UMMMC serveswell over one million lives and is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 95,000 ED visits/year.
UMMMCisone ofthelargestTransplant Centersin NewEngland, performing over 60 liver transplants a year.Our IRdivisionworks in close collaboration with the transplant team, as well as ourmultidisciplinary Oncologic Center,OB/GYN and UrologyDepartments. We are part of active PERT and AVMclinics.
Thecandidatewill participate fully in a busy division, performing a wide range of procedures, including the full array of interventional oncology(including Y90), TIPS and portal interventions, fibroid embolization, prostate embolization,endovascular treatment of VTEincluding thrombolysis, biliary interventions, endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms and venous access, GI/GU interventions,trauma embolization, and CT and Ultrasound guided biopsy, ablation and drainage procedures.Our IR group is supported by a group of 8 APPs, who perform all vascular access and some IR procedures both at UMMMC and in the community.
The UMass Radiology Department has state-of-the art imaging equipment, an AGFA PACS system, EPIC EMR, Tera-Recon image processing software andPowerScribe360. The department is comprised of approximately 65fellowship-trainedRadiologistsorganized into specialized divisions, trains 20 residents (5 per year) and 9 fellows.We currently supportan ESIR fellow and have applied for an IR/DR residency program.The department also includes approximately 15 PhDs. Itis supported by more than $6M/year in researchfunding andoffers a full research IR suite with a 3T MRI.
