University of Louisville Department of Radiology has a 2021-2022 position available for the ACGME Accredited Independent IR Fellowship Program. ESIR or non-ESIR candidates may apply.
The trainee can expect to develop excellent clinical and procedural abilities with an abundant academic experience, appropriate for a career in a private or academic practice. Our trainees can expect to perform an average of 1100+ procedures per year. The University of Louisville Hospital is a busy tertiary care hospital, designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a level 1 trauma center. With a busy transplant center and a large referral area, trainees will gain a tremendous amount of experience in interventional oncology (ablation, TACE, TARE, IRE, etc.), transplant interventions (TIPS, BRTO, portal vein recanalization, renal transplant artery stenosis) GI/GU, dialysis interventions (fistulogram/graftogram, thrombectomy and catheter placement), arteriography, women's health (UFE, pelvic congestion syndrome, fallopian tube recanalization), men's health (prostate artery embolization), venous intervention, IVC filter interventions, pulmonary thrombectomy and bronchial embolizations, MSK interventions, lymphangiograhy, and pediatric interventions. The trainee will attend IR clinic and tumor board. Four-week rotations in ICU, pediatrics, neuroendovascular, and vascular surgery will broaden the clinical exposure.
Qualified applicants must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME or Canadian accredited residency, or a 4-year radiology residency in another country
Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology
Passed all three steps of the USMLE
