Neurointerventional Radiology/Neuroendovascular Surgery Clinical Fellowship Position: Montefiore Medical Center We are currently accepting applications for an unexpected non-ACGME accredited Neurointerventional/Neuroendovascular Clinical Fellowship position to start July 1, 2020, at the Montefiore Medical Center (Moses Division), Bronx, New York. Montefiore Health System is comprised of 15 member hospitals and more than 200 outpatient ambulatory care sites. The fellowship is based on the main campus, Moses Division, which is a 620-bed tertiary hospital and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Also, on-site is 106-bed Children's Hospital at Montefiore. The duration of the program is 1 to 2 years based on the selected candidate's qualifications. This position is open to candidates who have completed Neuroradiology and Vascular Neurology Fellowships (following Radiology and Neurology ACGME accredited residencies) as well as Neurosurgery resident programs. The fellowship provides advanced training in full aspects of Neurointerventional clinical care and procedures in a high-volume New York Metropolitan Academic Neurovascular Center. Fully integrated Neurointerventional team consisted of 3 Neuroradiologists, and 2 Neurosurgeons offers a comprehensive Neurointerventional training experience in both Neuroendovascular and Percutaneous Spine procedures. There are two dedicated Philips bi-plane angiography suites and two interventional CT scanners. In 2019, the team performed 335 diagnostic cerebral angiographies and 320 Neurovascular Interventional procedures, including 132 mechanical thrombectomies, and 132 brain aneurysm embolizations. Also, we have performed 114 percutaneous vertebral augmentations and 827 epidural injections for back pain. The year-round comprehensive teaching curriculum includes didactic lectures in Neurointerventional Radiology/Neuroendovascular surgery organized into cohesive modules, neuropathology, and physics, as well as multiple weekly case conferences. All fellows are encouraged to pursue research, mentored by faculty with ongoing research projects, with intent to publish and present the results at major societal meetings. Participation in research projects is an expected element of the fellowship. Candidates should hold or be eligible for a medical license in the State of New York and must have evidence of current/valid work authorization. Montefiore Medical Center accepts the J1, and J2 visas sponsored through the ECFMG also may be able to sponsor H1-B visas. To apply, please submit the following to the address below.
