Abdominal Radiology MRI Fellowship in Arizona
Unexpected opening for July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021
The Mayo Clinic in Arizona Department of Radiology has an expected unfilled slot in Abdominal Radiology MRI fellowship for the 2020-21 academic year. This fellowship opportunity is the second of 2 Abdominal Radiology MRI fellowship positions; the first has been filled.
As a fellow in Abdominal MRI, you will work closely with abdominal imaging experts, to gain the appropriate skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in private or academic clinical practices with special emphasis on diseases of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems and comprehensive exposure to MRI that cannot be mastered in radiology residency training. Mayo offers cutting edge, state-of-the-art MR for abdominal and pelvic MRI indications at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona. You will gain experience with 3.0T and 1.5T MRI scanners and PET/MRI integrated with a 3.0T MRI.
Your clinical time includes training in the following: Hepatobiliary and pancreatic comprehensive MRI, pre and post liver transplant MRI evaluation, GI tract MRI, Gynecologic MRI, Genitourinary MRI, and Abdominal MR angiography.
During the Abdominal Radiology MRI Track, you participate in several recurring multidisciplinary conferences that afford close cooperative interaction with outstanding medical, surgical and pathology colleagues. These include hepatobiliary cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, GU tumor, and GYN tumor multidisciplinary conferences.
Additionally, fellows in our program will have the opportunity for up to 12 weeks of elective time, if desired. Fellows in the past have used this opportunity to gain more confidence in a specific area of weakness or to sharpen skills needed for a future job opportunity.
Applicants interested in the Mayo Clinic Arizona Abdominal Radiology MRI fellowship should start by submitting their CV and a cover letter to our Program Coordinator, Jennifer Glassman, at Glassman.Jennifer@mayo.edu, (Phone (480)342-2205).
