The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) and Children’s Health is seeking an academic Pediatric Interventional Radiologist. Candidate must be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified/eligible, have completed an accredited fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology (pediatric and/or adult), and be qualified to hold a Texas State Medical License. The primary clinical and on-call responsibilities of the candidate would be at the Children’s hospitals with a potential for up to 40% adult IR component for qualified candidates. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Pediatric interventional radiology is offered at the Children’s Medical Center- Dallas, a 523-bed tertiary pediatric hospital for the Children’s Health System of Texas and level 1 trauma center. In addition, there is a satellite 72-bed community hospital that provides imaging and IR services at Children’s Medical Center- Plano. Children’s Medical Center has two dedicated pediatric IR suites in the main campus and one IR suite in the Plano campus. There is an outpatient IR clinic supported by a dedicated clinic coordinator. The division consists of 4 IR Physicians and 2 nurse coordinators. The hospital has a full spectrum of clinical sub-specialties including liver and kidney transplant and cardiothoracic surgery and is a designated hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia center. Currently a total of 1500 IR cases are being performed per year with a huge potential for growth in number and complexity.
