The UC Irvine School of Medicine, Department of Radiological Sciences anticipates openings in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series and Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank. Expertise in all aspects of advanced abdominal imaging especially MRI is a pre-requisite.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
Requirements - Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree. The applicant must be fellowship trained in Abdominal Imaging and have a documented interest in research and teaching with documented scholarly activities. The hospital is an NCI designated cancer center with multidisciplinary research opportunities available. Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in diagnostic radiology and be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California.
The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is located in Orange, California and is the only level I trauma center in the region. The department performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 30 full-time and parttime faculty. All imaging equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other services. The UC Irvine Medical Center is a 450-bed acute care and tertiary referral facility. Protected research time and research support is available.
