Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join our practice. The ideal candidate would have an interest in another established area of expertise within radiology in addition to Nuclear Medicine. The applicant should be seeking an advanced state of the art clinical practice with opportunities for research and education. The position will include participation in our general nuclear medicine practice, including radiotherapy and cardiac imaging, as well as participation in our busy clinical and research PET/CT practice. The Nuclear Medicine division comprises 24 dedicated clinical and research physicians in nuclear medicine and nuclear radiology plus specialized radiochemist, nuclear pharmacist and physicist support. The clinical practice conducts nearly 40,000 Nuclear Medicine exams per year with more than 13,000 PET/CT, and 1,000 PET/MR examinations. Two cyclotron/PET radiochemistry facilities are fully operational to increase clinical and research capacity. The division has a rapidly growing therapy practice, with over 700 doses of Lu-based agents delivered and plans to build out a new therapy center in 2020. The clinical practice is supported by a dedicated research PET/CT and small animal imaging facility containing 5 scanners.
Extensive educational opportunities exist particularly given Mayo Clinic’s global patient mix. There are nuclear medicine fellowship positions available each year and over 50 trainees in the residency program. Numerous research opportunities are present on multiple fronts given the close working relationships with clinical colleagues as well as strong physicist and scientist support. The Nuclear Medicine division and Radiology department benefit from strong administrative support.
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology and have advanced fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and be ABR CAQ certified or CAQ-eligible or ABNM certified.
