Opportunity available for a Cardiothoracic Imaging Radiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the Number 1 Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth. Led by Dr. Suhny Abbara, an internationally renowned cardiothoracic radiologist and inaugural editor of the RSNA publication Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging, the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division currently includes 11 radiologists, and sponsors a Texas Medical Board-accredited fellowship program in cardiothoracic imaging. Candidate must be ABR Board certified or eligible, and fellowship trained in Thoracic Imaging. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. The radiology department serves a 1,000-bed urban Level 1 trauma hospital as well as a 460-bed university hospital. Faculty will be exposed to the entire spectrum of Pulmonary and Cardiovascular disease. The department of radiology houses state of the art imaging equipment including latest generations of MRI, CT and PET-CT scanners as well as state-of-the-art hospital wide electronic systems including EMR, PACS, 3D processing software, voice recognition dictation, and several other electronic resources. Faculty will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities. There are excellent research and educational opportunities as well as availability of high-level mentorship in the pursuit of scholarly activities. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient film interpretation of thoracic images and various thoracic interventional procedures at Parkland, University Hospitals and outpatient facilities. Teaching responsibilities will include medical students, Radiology residents and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in various multidisciplinary conferences. Research will vary depending on candidate’s interest.
