The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department Of Radiology, Division of Abdominal Imaging in Dallas is seeking a Radiologist. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Candidate must be ABR Board certified or eligible, fellowship trained in Abdominal Imaging, and be eligible for a Texas Medical License. The position requires a strong background in computer science. The heavy reliance of our radiology department on informatics technology, the increasing complexity of imaging applications, and the emergence of machine learning necessitate recruitment of a radiologist with specialized skills in the areas of image pattern recognition and processing, structured reporting, health data management, enterprise utilization, and system integration (e.g. Epic, PACS, Powerscribe, etc.). The successful candidate will work clinically at Parkland Hospital and Health Systems, UTSouthwestern Hospitals, and outpatient facilities and will participate in such activities as standardizing, streamlining, troubleshooting, and improving clinical practice. Clinical duties will include the interpretation and reporting of abdominal CTs, ultrasounds, plain films, and fluoroscopic procedures as well as the performance or imaging guided interventions such as biopsies and fluid drainages. The successful candidate will also participate in on-going research in health data processing and management, clinical informatics, quality, and machine learning and is expected to prepare formal presentation of research activities both internally as well as at national and international conferences. This position is involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in various multidisciplinary conferences.
