The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No. 1 Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth, is seeking a physician radiologist who will be appointed as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations, working with approximately 130 clinical faculty, and 65 residents and fellows in one of the largest radiology training programs in the U.S. Candidates must be board certified/eligible, fellowship-trained, and hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required.
This Vice Chair of Clinical Operations reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Radiology, acting in alignment and closely with the Chair’s priorities and interests, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Department of Radiology. This leadership position also serves as the primary interface between the Chair and the Department’s clinical Division Chiefs to ensure that adequate staffing and scheduling meet service-level requirements.
Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group, as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus. Robust collaborations with imaging vendors enrich discovery opportunities. Current projects focus on MR technology development, spectral CT, US microbubble oncology therapy, theranostic development and implementation, machine learning and informatics. Administrative, biostatistical and logistical support are provided.
