Open Rank of Radiology in Breast Imaging
The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Breast Imaging Radiologist. This is a faculty position that will report to the Chair of the department.
The successful candidates will provide coverage in Breast Imaging at University of New Mexico Hospital Outpatient Surgery and Imaging Services, Sandoval Regional Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center providing all aspects of breast imaging including interpreting screening and diagnostic mammograms with and without tomosynthesis, diagnostic breast ultrasound, interpreting breast MRI, performing imaging-guided biopsies utilizing US, MRI, tomosynthesis and stereotactic modalities and performing imaging-guided localizations as well as participation in multidisciplinary conferences. Additionally, willingness and experience in another area of specialty (i.e. ultrasound, musculoskeletal imaging, cardiothoracic, ER) would be beneficial. Optimal candidates will have scholarly experience and interest.
The position is responsible for mentoring and teaching medical students and residents. Most daily clinical assignments involve resident supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff.
The Department of Radiology services the UNM Hospital which is a 580-bed, Level 1 Trauma, Tertiary Care, NCI Cancer Center; the 320-bed VAMC; and a 71-bed Regional hospital.
