UMass Memorial Medical Group, the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, is seeking anABRand MusculoskeletalFellowship trained radiologist.The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center www.umassmed.edu/radiology performs over 900,000 studies per year, across fivehospitals and an outpatient MRI center. Current faculty include 65 fellowship trained Radiologists, all practicing in the organ or modality-based divisions, including a 24/7/365 Emergency Radiology Division. The department trains 5 Residents per year (20 total).UMass Memorial Health Care is the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts with over 1 million lives in our catchment area.
The MSK division reads studies from 7 MRIs and 7 CTs, interpreting over 110,000 studies per year. The Division is currently comprised of 7full-time, fellowship-trained faculty members. All sites are on EPIC and a new enterprise-wide AGFA PACS system. The division trains one MSK fellow per year, and an “MRI” fellow who devotes 25% effort to MSK. The MSK division covers a specialty specific 8a-5p weekend call proportionate to the division staffing; there is no after hours (pager) call.
The division provides a full range of diagnostic services including XR, US, CT, and MRI as well as diagnostic and therapeutic fluoroscopic, US, and CT guided interventional MSK procedures in close collaboration with our Orthopedic, Rheumatology and Sports-Medicine departments. The candidate should have solid communication skills with experience and strong diagnostic skills in interpreting tertiary-level musculoskeletal, rheumatologic and orthopedic radiographs. Experience with the musculoskeletal US, and competency in the full range of MSK interventions is required.
UMass Memorial is located 40 miles from downtown Boston, easily accessible from the Mass. Pike. Many faculty live in the immediate Boston suburbs where they enjoy a stress and traffic-free 35 minutes “reverse” commute to work and home.
