The newly formed MRI Research Institute (MRIRI) at the Department of Radiology of the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University is seeking highly qualified applicants for tenure track faculty positions with open appointment ranks, ranging from assistant to full professor. These faculty members will work with the state of the art equipment, including MR guided focused ultrasound (InSightec MRgFUS systems – 2 brain 1024-arrays with both high and low energy transducers and body arrays targeting prostate, bone, and other organs), PET/MR (2 Siemens and 1 GE units including a one-of-a-kind interventional unit), 7T human system (to be installed by late 2019), and 3T (including 1 Siemens Prisma and 1 GE Signa Premier), as well as access to a large installed base of clinical MRI systems of varying field strengths and other imaging equipment.
MRIRI aims to be a leading center in the development of innovative MRI methodologies and their applications in biomedicine. Research interests at MRIRI in terms of clinical applications cover a wide range of diseases, including, but not limited to, neurological, cardiovascular, and oncologic disorders. Weill Cornell Medical College, located in the upper east side of New York City, has a vibrant biomedical research community and strong ties to the main Cornell campus in Ithaca and the Tech campus in New York City.
Applicants are expected to have a doctorate degree related to imaging science and a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in methodology developments and applications. Applicants to be considered at the Associate and Full Professor levels are expected to have demonstrated success in managing an independently funded research program, including both previous and current NIH funding.
