Fully funded, mentored, one year research fellowship - part of a formal institutional Training Grant (NIH T32).
Work will be focused on Bariatric Embolization or on the study of Vascular Anomalies/HHT.
Johns Hopkins Interventional Radiology has the most extenisve Bariatric Embolizaiton research program in the world, with over 10 years of experience and publication. We are currently concluding an FDA and IRB approved pilot phase I/II clinical trial (BEAT Obesity), and are in the planning stages of our next trial.
Concurrently we are running a translational research program investigating the cellular, physiologic, hormonal and functional effects of this procedure. Fellows would have the opportunity to work in either or both area(s). As well, they would be encouraged to submit and present data at national meetings and to publish manuscripts during their year.
Johns Hopkins Interventional Radiology also has one of the largest and most established clinics in North America for the treatment of Vascular Anomalies including HHT. There are a number of projects (prospective and retrospective) that are currently being performed in order to improve care and to provide new treatment options for these complex patients.

Applicants must be either a US citizen or green card holder, and have either an MD or DO (US diploma not required). Applicants must be accepted into an ACGME approved residency or fellowship (prefer but not limited to radiology) but not yet on faculty. Can be from outside USA or Canada. Start date would be this summer.
A background either in clinical research or in basic/translational research is preferred. IR experience would also be preferred, but is optional.
Applicants should be comfortable with writing, data assessment, and clinical assessment and care.
