Thoracic Imaging Faculty Position at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School Boston, MA
The Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, is seeking applicants for a faculty position in the Division of Thoracic Imaging. This position offers excellent clinical, research, and teaching opportunities. We are a high-volume division, both on the diagnostic and interventional services, performing between 425 and 450 lung biopsies per year and interpreting close to 30,000 Chest CT scans and 250 MRI scans per year. Our case mix is rich and interesting since we are a referral center for mesothelioma, interstitial lung diseases and have a LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) center. Our state-of-the-art Lung Center brings together experts in Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, Oncology and Radiology services to provide collaborative and multidisciplinary care. The Brigham and Women’s Hospital performed 75 lung transplants and 22 heart transplants in the last year.
The Departmental resources include: 18 CT scanners (including 320-slice multidetector scanners, three dual energy/dual source scanners and three CT-fluoroscopy units), 4 integrated PET-CT scanners, and 17 MR scanners (including 1.5-T to 7 Tesla magnets) which are used for both clinical and research projects. Our innovative state-of-the-art AMIGO (Advanced Multimodality Image Guided Operating) suite and hybrid operating room allows us to work alongside the surgeons utilizing and integrating the collective skills and expertise of interventional radiologists and surgeons. We also have 4 integrated PET-CT scanners.
Applicants will have the opportunity to train both residents and fellows in diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. Our prestigious residency includes 8 diagnostic and 2 DR/IR residents per year. Our fellowship program trains 3 thoracic imaging fellows per year.
Applicants should be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and have fellowship training or comparable experience in thoracic imaging. Daily duties include plain film, CT and MRI interpretation as well as performing all biopsies in the thorax.
