Our outpatient radiology group is seeking an energetic recently fellowship-trained neuroradiologist to join our well-respected four (FTE) subspecialty trained radiologists in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We staff three outpatient imaging centers (MRI & CT Diagnostics) in Virginia Beach and the neighboring city of Chesapeake with two 1.5T MRI scanners, two new 3T MRI scanners, a FONAR open upright MRI scanner for claustrophobic patients, two CT scanners (64 and 16 slice), ultrasound, x-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy, and SPECT. In addition, we read remotely for two orthopedic MRI scanners in nearby Newport News and Hampton, Virginia. We have excellent relationships with our referring physicians. Our reading volume has increased more than doubled over the past four years and we expect continued growth.
Our radiologists are expected to read approximately 60 cross-sectional studies per day, most of which are MRI. We have 8 weeks vacation per year. Call, which involves reading studies from home and taking an occasional telephone call from our technologist staff and referring physicians, is one week and weekend per month. Starting salary is competitive with other outpatient groups in our geographic area, and the new member of our group will have the opportunity to be rewarded for any increase in revenue his/her participation in reading, marketing, and relationship-building contributes to our practice. Expected reading responsibilities will be 2/3 in radiologist's subspecialty. There are no hospital responsibilities and no barium studies.
