VABHS is seeking a board-certified radiologist to serve as Chief of Radiology. VABHS Radiology Service provides diagnostic services using state-of-the-art equipment at our West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton, and Lowell campuses and interventional services at West Roxbury. VABHS Radiology Service also oversees diagnostic radiology services at the nearby Bedford VA. Subspecialties covered include neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, nuclear medicine, body imaging, women’s imaging, and interventional radiology. VABHS Radiology Service hosts residents from Boston Medical Center and fellows in Emergency Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine from Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
We seek an individual with demonstrated leadership skills, clinical excellence, a commitment to education, and the ability to catalyze the growth of research. The ideal candidate should have a national reputation and academic accomplishments consistent with appointment as associate professor or professor at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) or Harvard Medical School (HMS). The incumbent will select primary appointment at one of the principal affiliates with secondary appointment at the other.
VABHS is dually affiliated with HMS and BUSM and serves as the major tertiary referral center for Veterans from throughout New England. VABHS provides inpatient, residential, and outpatient medical-surgical and mental health services across three major campuses, five community-based outpatient clinics, and several residential rehabilitation facilities. VABHS is the nation’s largest recipient of VA research funds and serves as a host site for numerous national research programs, including two divisions of the National Center for PTSD, the Million Veteran Program (the world’s largest genomic biorepository), VA’s contribution to All of Us, and brain banks for CTE, PTSD, and Alzheimer’s disease. There are rich opportunities for research collaboration with these large national programs. VABHS hosts more than 3400 trainees annually in medicine, nursing, and the allied health professions.
