The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Radiology with a focus on Interventional Radiology. Responsibilities include teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and active participation in our busy clinical section.
The AC track places an emphasis on clinical practice and teaching in the academic setting. Scholarly activity is encouraged, but not required.
Teaching activities in Interventional Radiology include: •Daily clinical supervision of Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology residents and Interventional Radiology fellows •Lecturing at assigned resident didactic conferences. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. American Board of Radiology certified with CAQ and completion of fellowship training in Interventional Radiology or completion of a residency in Interventional Radiology is required.
The IR division has an active outpatient clinic and consulting service as well as an inpatient admitting service. The IR Division at Penn has considerable depth of expertise, performing more than 10,000 procedures annually. More than half of them are therapeutic, covering every aspect of the field.
Penn Interventional Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, and the Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
