The MSKCC Department of Radiology seeks Academic-track junior to mid-career faculty members with expertise in Abdominal Radiology to join its Body Imaging Service. Candidates will participate in non-interventional patient care, retrospective and prospective research (joining in ongoing funded research protocols and applying for further funding) and educational activities, teaching both fellows and residents. The clinical skill sets/modalities required include Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound and plain radiography.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in various areas of collaborative research and to develop their own program of research, preferably with a focus in high-potential growth areas within the Body Imaging Service. They will join a growing team of clinical researchers actively involved in national/international collaborative studies, lecturing and hands-on workshops and will have the opportunity to pursue numerous available niches in cancer imaging leading to a successful academic career. S/he should eventually make substantive contributions to the academic portfolio of the Department.
S/he will be expected to collaborate closely with members of other clinical departments as well as with medical, nursing and administrative leadership to foster a culture of teamwork that promotes an environment conducive to outstanding, patient-centered care and academic excellence.
Eligible for Medical licensure in New York
Board certified in Radiology, or requirement to achieve certification in specified time period
Fellowship training, or equivalent experience
Track record in applying for research funding (if mid-career)
Eligible for appointment at specified academic rank(s)
Prior teaching experience
Recognition for teaching abilities
Possesses a shared vision of excellence
Recognized for consistent excellence in clinical radiology and teaching
Demonstrates a strong track-record in research that is appropriate to the rank of the position
