The Columbia University Medical Center Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship. , Department of Radiology, is currently accepting applications for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years. Columbia University Medical Center is a tertiary care medical center located in New York City, which specializes in many complex cardiac and pulmonary pathology and is nationally ranked #3 in cardiac medicine and surgery. The fellowship is an exciting and intensive one-year program, designed to train the fellows in optimizing and interpreting multimodality cardiothoracic imaging with a heavy concentration on complex cardiac and pulmonary imaging.
Columbia University Medical Center has many exceptionally busy and complex cardiac and pulmonary services, including but not limited to: Structural and Valvular Heart Disease, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Aortic Disease, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, COPD/Emphysema and Thoracic Oncology. Our section works closely with these highly specialized services to provide high quality radiological interpretation and excellent care for our patients. We have multiple multi-disciplinary conferences including Thoracic Oncology Conference, Aortic Conference, Congenital Heart Disease Conference, Interstitial Lung Disease Conference and Lung Volume Reduction Conference. In addition, there is excellent collaboration and ample opportunity for research and academic work as well.
The program provides exceptional training in all areas of diagnostic cardiothoracic imaging with both one-on-one learning at the work station and dedicated didactic sessions. The fellowship is designed with graduated responsibility through the training year, enabling a smooth transition to independent practice. Our graduates have gone on to pursue successful careers in both academia and private practice throughout the country.
