Today’s leaders in the field of radiology must expand their skills beyond providing high quality imaging interpretations. In order to tackle the world of big radiology data, we at Columbia University Medical Center are excited to create a unique fellowship opportunity in Bioinformatics. In addition to a robust curriculum in the basics of PACS, RIS, Computer Aided Detection, we will help create a strong foundation in understanding/implementation in artificial intelligence and neural networks. With the multitude of ongoing machine based learning projects, the graduating fellow will leave our fellowship with a robust knowledge base to help them tackle a job in reeling in big data of imaging.
Combined with the Bioinformatics fellowship, a 6 month clinical component in abdominal imaging at Columbia University Medical Center will be provided. Our program includes a dedicated clinical didactic series, a daily body imaging case discussion and an up to date journal club series, in addition to numerous clinical and multidisciplinary conferences in the medical center. Fellows graduating from this unique combined fellowship will be strong in clinical imaging for either private practice or academics.
The fellowship is currently accepting fellowship applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.
