Columbia University Medical Center is a tertiary care medical center in Manhattan, New York. The combined Abdominal Imaging and Cardiothoracic Fellowship is currently accepting applications for the 2019-2020 and 2020-21 academic years. The fellowship is an intensive one-year program designed to train radiologists in the optimizing the imaging technique and interpretation of both abdominal and cardiothoracic imaging studies. An emphasis will be placed on abdominal MR imaging and cardiac imaging (both CT and MR).
During the abdominal imaging portion of the fellowship, there is a heavy focus on hepatobiliary and renal transplant imaging given the medical center’s regional leadership in major organ transplantation. Additionally, there is a wide range of cases in the rectal cancer staging with MR, 3T prostate imaging, dynamic pelvic floor imaging, MR elastography and MR enterography.
During the cardiothoracic imaging portion of the fellowship, there are a plethora of cases involving interstitial lung disease and primary thoracic malignancies. The medical center is a regional leader in adult cystic fibrosis. Additionally, the medical center has a large adult patient population with congenital heart disease as well as one of the regional leaders in structural cardiac valve procedures.
Our program includes a dedicated clinical didactic series, a daily imaging case discussion and an up to date journal club series, in addition to numerous clinical and multidisciplinary conferences in the medical center.
