Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), the largest healthcare system in Texas, is conducting a retained search for a visionary leader for the Chair of Radiology Central Texas Division based in Temple.
The Chair of the Department of Radiology represents an opportunity for growth and revitalization to build upon a strong clinical foundation throughout the five regions of the Central Texas Division of BSWH consisting of 12 hospitals, more than 1,200 beds, and over 60 regional, specialty and community clinics. Currently, the Chair of Radiology has responsibility for Radiology in four of the five Central Texas Regions (including the children’s hospital). This includes eight Joint Venture Imaging Centers (Baylor Scott & White and Touchstone Imaging) and the Temple Region, whose flagship Memorial Hospital (the only Level I trauma center in the area) has been consistently listed among the “Top 100 Hospitals” in America and top 15 major teaching hospitals, with six clinical services top-ranked nationally by U.S News and World Report. With over 500 FTEs including 57 Physicians and 267 Technologists, the Radiology Department is a cohesive group providing 24/7 staff coverage with an average read and report after exam of two hours. The Chair will be eligible for Academic Appointment with Texas A&M University Health Science Center, College of Medicine which historically has been at the level of Professor.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a Department of Radiology to standardize and coordinate superior clinical care and education for Radiology across the system. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience managing strategy and operations for a Radiology Department across multiple hospitals. A Medical Doctorate degree with Board certification in Radiology is required as well as eligibility to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas.
