We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join an interdisciplinary research team at the Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute at UC San Diego. This fellowship will advance the validation of ultrasound by leveraging the active research and clinical program in liver imaging conducted at UC San Diego. This program includes research in contemporaneous ultrasound and MRI in patients spanning the entire spectrum of chronic liver disease and provides the opportunity to validate advanced ultrasound techniques, using contemporaneous MRI as the primary reference standard.
The fellow will perform research in the following areas:
Ultrasound-based detection and quantification of liver fat
Ultrasound-based detection and quantification of liver fibrosis
Ultrasound-based detection and evaluation of liver cirrhosis
Ultrasound-based detection of primary liver cancer
Candidates are required to have a PhD. Preferred candidates will have experience in liver and ultrasound imaging. Moreover, the candidate should have a strong scientific background, demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to analyze and interpret experimental imaging data, ability to communicate results in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing, and have a solid track record of scientific achievement as documented by peer-reviewed scientific journal publications.
