DetailsMontefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, located in the Bronx, New York, provide a strong environment and diverse clinical base for biomedical imaging research. The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Micro-PET/SPECT/CT facility and state of the art imaging facilities across 3 acute care hospitals, a dedicated renowned children's hospital and multiple clinics provide access to both research-dedicated and clinical environments and imaging equipment. Montefiore-Einstein is home to multiple Centers of Excellence including 8 NIH-designated research centers.
The Montefiore-Einstein Department of Radiology is seeking a Vice Chair of Radiology Research.
The position reports to the Radiology department chair, Dr. Judy Yee. The Department will provide significant startup support and additional support for recruitment of research faculty members. This includes the recruitment of a Unified Research Administrator, Administrative Assistant, statistician, and pre and post award specialists. The academic appointment will be at a rank of Associate or Full Professor.
The position will have responsibility for recruiting multiple additional research faculty members (PhD and/or MD) to help build a high-quality, collaborative, top-notch imaging research program.
The Vice Chair of Research will:
- oversee the Montefiore-Einstein Radiology research programs and resources
- grow research funding
- recruit and support new research faculty and trainees
- promote interdisciplinary research programs
The candidate must have MD or MD/PhD credentials, be sub-specialty trained and board certified in radiology and be eligible for an unrestricted NYS medical license.
The candidate must demonstrate:
- a proven track record and success in imaging sciences publications in preclinical and/or clinical research, physics, biotechnology, or related fields of imaging sciences;
- ability to secure competitive federal grant funding as the Principal Investigator; (currently active funded programs are highly desirable)
- experience in organizing research resources and high-end instrumentation
- national and international leadership
- knowledge in technology transfer
- successful research mentorship and laboratory organization
- an ability to foster research teams and to advance multi-disciplinary research collaborations and programs.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ongoing clinical practice in their area of expertise will be supported.
